Lead Coach - Dr. Sam Douglass

Dr. Sam Douglass has been in the coaching business 30+ years. In the past seven years, Sam has planted ten churches that all have over 1,000 people in attendance weekly. As the lead coach for Cultural Pioneering, Sam hosts monthly classes for the planters in our network through GoToMeeting's videoconferencing software.

In addition to the coaching provided through Cultural Pioneering, Sam also serves as the North America supervisor for Dynamic Church Planting International (DCPI) and leads a life and business coaching initiative, Just Coach Me.

Dr. Orville Hagan

Dr. Orville Hagan is the president of Cultural Pioneering with headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee. Hagan has served in many administrative capacities as well as pastor to congregations in Indiana and South Carolina and spoken in hundreds of denominational meetings around the world including the 1992 General Assembly.

His past services include tenures as second and third assistant general overseer, assistant director and then director of Evangelism and Home Missions; membership on the denomination’s Council of Eighteen; state overseer in Virginia, Tennessee, Great Lakes Region, and Hawaii, in addition to serving as state youth and Christian education director in Kentucky and Pennsylvania.

Dr. Hagan has been a champion for the challenges of church planting and aided in organizing 83 churches in the four years he served as state overseer in Tennessee. He has a deep desire for the Great Commission to be fulfilled--a desire that cannot be fulfilled without planting new churches. He serves as a mentor and coach for several church planters across the nation.

Dr. Hagan received his education at the University of Hawaii and received a Doctor of Divinity from Lee University. He is married to Vicky Hughes Hagan, and they have two children and four grandsons.

Dr. Michael Knight

Michael Knight is the founding and current lead pastor at Covenant Community Church in Western Kentucky. Michael and his team founded CCC in 2000, desiring to see a church built on community and relationship, with a primary goal of building strong families of faith. His passion and calling is to be a great church planter and to be a trainer, catalyst, and friend to others who feel the call of God to plant relevant churches. Michael's background includes 15 plus years in youth ministry; from lead youth pastor to international youth director for a major denomination. In addition Michael has been a drug and alcohol counselor and of course a church planter, in the inner city of Nashville, TN and now in Madisonville, KY. He currently serves in various positions as a consultant and board member.

Michael is a graduate of Lee University, COG School of Theology, and is a current student at Regent University where he is pursuing a Doctorate of Strategic Leadership.

According to Michael, his greatest accomplishment in life was finding his lifelong teammate, Jennie. He and Jennie married in the Summer of 2002 and now enjoy raising their beautiful daughters.

Keith L. Ivester

Keith L. Ivester was appointed to Kentucky as Administrative Bishop at the Church of God General Assembly in 2008. Previously, he had served as Administrative Bishop of Indiana and Hawaii. He has a tremendous burden to coach and resource church planters and currently serves as a teacher to 14 church planters across the nation.

Bishop Ivester is married to the former Debbie Elliott and they are of two children, Ryan and Carrie.
